From Medical School to Head Coach: The William Boe-Wiegaard Story
Already into his second year of coaching a Division 1 program, former ATP player William Boe-Wiegaard is now concentrating his efforts into creating the next ATP player to replace him on tour. After being announced the new head coach for the Sacred Heart University Pioneers Men's Tennis head coach, Boe-Wiegaard tries to ensure that he can continue the success that program has had in the past, into the future.
A decorated Division 3 player at Bates College, earning the singles National Championship in 2006, runner up in singles in 2005, AND was named an All American 5 times! Not only does he have an extensive tennis background, Boe-Wiegaard focused on his academics as much as he did for tennis. As a medical student at Bates College, he somehow figured out to balance his stressful school schedule with Division 3 athletics.
