Another New Brand in Tennis: Lulu Lemon

It wouldn't be the start of a new tennis season without new clothing lines joining the tennis world of clothing. Last week Hugo Boss joined the ranks with their new sponsored athlete, Matteo Berrettini. Switching over from the Italian brand, Lotto, Berrettini is looking to make a statement on and off the court with his new brand ambassadorship.

This week, Canadian young star, Leylah Annie Fernandez announced she will be a brand ambassador to the Canadian-based company, Lulu Lemon.

In a recent article with Forbes magazine, she was considered one of the few professional athletes around the world to join the company. Some notable athletes that are a part of the brand include; NBA player Jordan Clarkson, NHL star John Tavares, and a decent size of Canadian Olympians.

"While her being Canadian is awesome and holds a special place in our hearts, it is really more rooted in our shared values and what we are going to create together," says Michelle Davies, Lululemon vice president of global sports marketing and partnerships. "We are definitely going the route of quality over quantity (in sponsorships), and we want to go deep and intentional with athletes we have shared values and can truly create with. We would have happily launched this line without the right individual. It is really about our shared values and who she is, the timing of the stars did align for us." - FORBES
