Pliskova OUT, All Aboard Shapo's Night Train, Zverev ACTUALLY Served Well - Day 3 US Open Recap

First and foremost, today was another amazing day of tennis. A lot of stars and a lot of talent to watch no matter what time you turn on the TV. But, we have to point out the most obvious takeaway from Day 3, seven seeds in the women's singles draw were knocked out of the tournament. The biggest one being the number one seed, Karolina Pliskova.

I don't know what it is, but the longer I see Pliskova highly ranked in a tournament or in the world rankings, I somehow think she is a bit of a bust (please don't scream at me). She reminds of the days of Jankovic or Safina where the number one player in the world was good enough to reach major semi finals and win a couple of premier titles but never (or maybe won't) win a grand slam title. Listen, she already has an impeccable career. 3 Fed Cup Titles, Number 1 in the World, Finalist at the US Open and Semi Finalist at the French Open and Australian Open. Honestly, this was her best opportunity to win a grand slam title with most of the Top 50 talent not present in the draw.

On the men's side, I was very impressed with Zverev's performance against young American star, Brandon Nakashima. The German had one of the better serving performances of his 2020 today. If you follow tennis closely, Zverev has been having some serving trouble this past year and it has been very noticeable. But today, the complete opposite. Winning over 80% of his first serve points and getting 75% of his first serves in, this is the Zverev we expect to see play all the time. This is the Zverev we expect to win majors (no pressure or anything).

Side Note: The US Open played Denis Shapovalov's "Night Train" after his four set win today against Kwon. When is his debut album coming out? ALSO, should we review his new song and other songs made by tennis players??
