Why are you the way you are... 2019 US Open Draw

Alright now... I know what you are all thinking. "It can't be rigged, it's completely random" Well, the way the draw for this years US Open just played out... it just has to be. Just listen to these first round matchups on both the men's and women's side.

Denis Shapovalov vs. Felix Auger Aliassime (second straight year for a first round matchup)

Serena Williams vs. Maria Sharapova (really...)

Roger Federer vs. Qualifier (I am not mad about this... just thought US Open was giving him an easier road to the final)

Sofia Kenin vs. Coco Vandeweghe (we just had to make an all American match up, right?)

Andrey Rublev vs. Stefanos Tsitsipas (first Top 10 seed to crash out of the tournament?)

These are just some of the matchups that stood out when the draw was first announced. There are definitely a lot more to be pointed out but take a look for yourself!

I would like to say, when the US Open says that the draws are made behind closed doors with one "independent" person from the media present, it really makes me question the legitimacy of how "random" these picks are.
